morning camp

There’s a lot to like about relatively roughing it in the wild. The connection with nature and the elements, in the raw, is something that modern life disconnects us from. Without experiencing it, the ability to appreciate it is at risk.  However, waking in the AM to a cold tent and aching back…well, I can do without.

    This morning wasn’t any different.

So walking around, trying to heat myself up, it would make sense that campfires would be going, wafting through trees that, coupled with the sun breaking over the treeline, would make for a memorable late sunrise.

If I recall, this is in Cuyamaca State Park in San Diego County, typical of the campsites we have here in the higher elevations.
